Didn’t manage to play any AE2012 today, so I’ll be doing a small retrospective of yesterday.
Played against a Ryu, Guy and Akuma using Ken, lost to the first two and beat the Akuma in 2 rounds.
The Ryu was kind of an ass. Turtled like hell so I got frustrated and made a lot of jump in mistakes. Dropped a lot of basic cr.mk combos. Sigh.
The Guy was ok. I learnt a bit more about the Guy matchup. Though I need to learn more about his wall jump options and application of gozantou. This Guy didn’t use any of the axe kicks or whirlwind kicks, I wonder why.
The Akuma was average, probably a beginner like me. I read his playstyle like a book because I played Akuma for months. He didn’t try anything fancy or cheap or whatever. I enjoyed this match a lot. He almost caught me with an ultra demon as I was coming down from an air tatsu but somehow he missed.
In other news, watched this during SGNewWave today. It was quite good actually. I liked the lighting, that persistent piano piece and the storyline. I thought James McAvoy was excellent here. I really didn’t like the teenaged Briony’s actress though.
Saw that person again during screening. Felt very empty after that for some reason, now I’m in a dickpunching mood.
More or less, doing daily posts again feels good. Ranting to no-one in particular helps to cut down the IRL usage of invective.
